CASE celebrated the installation of a new high precision Soralux Duplex milling machine at the Pithampur plant with a ceremony presided by VP CE APAC and AME Fabrizio Cepollina and Plant Director Satendra Tiwary. This versatile milling machine will be used for machining all the crawler excavators’ key structural parts: the lower centre frame (or X-frame), motor casing, crawler frames, upper frame, boom and arm.
The Soralux Duplex features two spindles that can be used simultaneously: it is two machines in one, which can be used together or individually, so that different tasks can be completed at the same time. For example, it will halve the cycle time for boom, arm and upper frame, which require machining from both sides and in a perpendicular direction. In addition to increasing the plant’s efficiency, its high precision will enable it to produce these key structural parts with high dimensional accuracy, resulting in their high reliability and in lower wear and tear of the excavator’s pins and bushes.
This latest investment will enhance the plant’s productivity and contribute to the high quality of its products.
