This October, CASE Construction Equipment proudly contributed to CNH South Africa’s powerful Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiative, standing shoulder to shoulder with colleagues from across all CNH brands. Through creativity, teamwork, and meaningful events, CNH South Africa made an impactful statement about the importance of community, support, and hope. Through every pink ribbon, painted machine, and spirited activity, CNH created a lasting impact that resonates far beyond the month of October.
A Creative Collaboration Across South Africa
At the heart of CNH South Africa’s initiative was a team-building challenge that united colleagues from diverse departments - head office, warehouse depot, and branches across the country. In this locally-driven initiative, employees were invited to take part in a team-building challenge to design, build, and decorate sculptures representing breast cancer awareness. Using repurposed materials sourced from CNH facilities, teams came together to craft meaningful pieces that embodied resilience and strength.
The main decorating event, held on 4 October, was an energetic afternoon where teams dressed in pink, cheered each other on, and enjoyed a braai while putting the final touches on their creations.
Reflecting on the event, CNH’s National EHS Officer, Bodine du Plessis, commented, “Today everyone worked together, and it was truly a team-building exercise. It was exactly what team-building is meant to be.”
With sculptures judged by an external panel that included Natasha Pretorius from ProAgri, each team’s effort and creativity were recognised and celebrated. Natasha commented, “The motivation and meaning behind each team’s work shone through. Choosing a winner was no easy task, as each project carried a heartfelt message.”
Petri Greyling, CNH Region Human Capital Manager, Africa Middle East (AME), Turkey, Pakistan and Turkmenistan, expressed the significance of this day for the company: “CNH globally partners with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and we encourage our teams around the world to support breast cancer awareness. Today was an absolute success; employees enjoyed themselves, and the team spirit was just incredible.”
CASE's Commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness
CASE demonstrated its commitment by displaying a pink SR200B Skid Steer Loader at the entrance of CNH’s Head Office in Isando, symbolising the brand’s support and raising awareness for all who visited throughout October. CASE Construction’s workshop staff also played a vital role in this project, guiding each team through the building process of their sculptures to ensure safety and lend their expertise.
Johan Joubert, General Manager of CNH’s Construction segment, shared his pride in the team’s efforts: “We’re proud to have participated in this meaningful initiative. The pink Skid Steer Loader stood as a bold reminder of our support for breast cancer awareness, and I am grateful to our teams for coming together to make a real impact.”
Clean-Up for Cancer and the PinkDrive Partnership
As part of CNH’s broader initiative, all CNH branches across the country participated in “Clean Up for Cancer,” a campaign encouraging employees to collect scrap metal throughout September and October. Proceeds from these scrap sales, along with funds raised through a charity auction at CASE Construction’s Birdie & Eagle Bash Customer Golf Day, will be donated to PinkDrive, South Africa’s beloved breast cancer public benefit organisation.
Founded in 2009 by Ms. Noelene Kotschan, PinkDrive is known for its mobile mammography and educational units, which travel throughout South Africa to provide life-saving screenings and health education. Driven by the mission that "early detection will help prolong a life," PinkDrive serves under-resourced communities and reaches citisens who would otherwise lack access to vital cancer screening services.
A Message of Resilience and Hope
In closing, Petri Greyling offered words of encouragement to those touched by cancer: “To any cancer fighters out there, never lose hope. In this CNH family, nobody fights alone.”
CASE Construction Equipment, alongside the entire CNH family, remains committed to supporting those affected by breast cancer and helping to build a community that uplifts, encourages, and inspires. With October’s activities complete, the powerful message of hope and resilience will continue to resonate across our branches and within our community.
